PAMVERC

PAMVERC was founded in 2008 as a consortium of three African based insecticide and vector control tools testing sites. They are located at Moshi and Muheza in Tanzania and in Cotonou, Benin. The individual trial sites have historical collaboration with the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

PAMVERC was established to bring together unique features of each trial site produced by location of the sites in different ecological regions of Africa. The sites have a spectrum of all the main malaria-transmitting mosquito species in Africa, namely An. gambiae s.s., An. arabiensis, and An. funestus, with different resistance status & mechanisms, varying levels of malaria transmission and different vector population frequencies. As a result, within PAMVERC, there is opportunity to undertake a broad spectrum of research ideas.
